What is Norwalk Youth Baseball?
Norwalk Youth Baseball (NYB) is a unified organization dedicated to providing comprehensive baseball programs for children across Norwalk, Connecticut. Formed through a partnership between Norwalk Little League and Norwalk Cal Ripken Baseball, NYB offers opportunities for players of all skill levels, fostering a love for the game and promoting community engagement.
History of Norwalk Youth Baseball
In 2024, Norwalk Little League and Norwalk Cal Ripken Baseball merged to form Norwalk Youth Baseball. This collaboration was designed to unify all baseball players across Norwalk, combining the rich traditions of both organizations to provide expanded opportunities for growth, competition, and enjoyment of the game.
History of Norwalk Little League
Established in 1951, Norwalk Little League is the oldest and longest-running youth sports program in the city. Over the decades, it has been committed to teaching the fundamentals of baseball, sportsmanship, and teamwork to countless young athletes. The league has been a cornerstone of the community, with games played at various local fields, including Broad River Park, Veterans Memorial Park, Brookside, and Fitch fields.
History of Cal Ripken Baseball in Norwalk
Norwalk Cal Ripken Baseball has been an integral part of the city's youth sports landscape, offering programs for players aged 4 to 12. The league emphasizes skill development and a competitive spirit, providing a platform for young athletes to hone their abilities. In 2012, Norwalk Cal Ripken merged with Cranbury Baseball, further strengthening its offerings and unifying the community's baseball programs.
